Little Robyn’s mum and dad had a great deal of decorating waiting for them when they moved into their new seaside home. So much so that it took several weeks to add the finishing touches to her new nursery.
Robyn’s parents were the lucky winners of a ‘Dream Nursery Makeover’ competition held at the Suffolk Baby and Toddler Show in Spring 2016 but, with so much work to do on the house, Robyn’s room had to wait a while.
After meeting with Robyn’s mum, Diana worked on giving the winning nursery a light, fresh feel in keeping with it’s coastal location, whilst creating the desired woodland-theme finish.
Scion’s ‘Branch’ wallpaper provided the perfect backdrop for Robyn’s Scandi-style cot with the rest of the room painted in a vintage white.
‘Painting the walls in a similar shade to the furniture gives a feeling of additional space…’ says Diana. And it certainly works well here, with Robyn afforded plenty of play space for her new tee-pee, hand-made by a family friend.
Finlay, the felt fox rug proved an instant success too, with Robyn giving him a big hug on first seeing her new room!
A combination of a modern blind and hand-made gingham curtains means Robyn has the perfect conditions for a good night’s sleep and, according to Mum, Michaela, it’s already working to great effect.
Mum was equally happy with the design, and the opportunity to have so many of her own ideas incorporated into the finished room. ‘Diana listens to what you’d like…and also injects her own style and opinion with beautiful effect. A thoughtful, relaxed and rewarding experience. Our daughter’s bedroom looks gorgeous!’
