Baby Showers

In many parts of the world, baby showers have been around for centuries. They were a chance for relatives and close friends to provide the mum-to-be with essential items for the new baby.
More recently in the western world the tradition has been embraced and combined with party foods, games and themes to create a truly memorable occasion.

The host, or organiser, is usually close to the mum-to-be, and can determine certain aspects of a baby shower that would be appreciated, and those that would not!
Setting a date is fairly flexible with most showers held two to three months before the expected birth date, although it is not uncommon for showers to take place after the birth these days.
The other important factor is where to hold the event.
Most popular venues include a familiar home address, favourite restaurant or a health spa, consider the interests of the mum-to-be and where she would most like to it to be.

Use the following basic checklist as a guide.
